Rutherford Recipes* Please share your Rutherford Recipes and if possible, include your stories about why they are special to you and where they came from. A picture of the final product would be terrific also, but if you don't have one and I try it, I'll add a picture later.
My daughter-in-law makes the most wonderful banana bread and it's a welcome gift whenever she has time to bake it. I asked her for the recipe and have posted it here. I could have transcribed it to a typed version, but handwritten recipes always seem to taste better...
I am not sure why this cookbook is named The New Rutherford Cook Book, as it was not written or compiled by anyone named Rutherford, nor was it published in an area called Rutherford. It was published in 1916. It has many very common recipes that would be nice to keep handy. You can view the entire book online or download a copy of it by clicking the photo-link below.

* Ok, another disclaimer here... I would like for us all to share Favorite Rutherford Family Recipes. They should be originals, not copyrighted somewhere or if they are, that you include a full citation of "by whom, what & where the recipe originated," to the best of your knowledge. As always... if there's a lawyer out there who wants to give real, free legal advice and/or input on this matter, or request that we pull something due to a copyright issue, email me the details at cmrhere@aol.com and it will be done.
